History of Our Club

VerseStified was first started in February 2004. The idea was to create a club that would influence the membership of many poets who would visit the site. To date VerseStified has only a handful of members with explosive talents, ideas, and passion into the poetry realm. This new site was developed July 2004 to generate more attention among the poetry circle, to involve more activities and events, and be submitted/linked to various poetry sites throughout the world.

Our Vision

VerseStified was formed as an open-ended world-wide community of poets with the expressed intent to support the vision and spoken word of poets as a whole. Understand that VerseStified is not directly affiliated with any other organizations, and membership is open to both poets and organizations, with not cost to join.

Our organization serves three purposes:

1. To provide support to poets in their spoken art.

2. To support poetry and the expression thereof.

3. To provide support to those who enjoy reading and listening to poetry in its form.

Toward these ends, VerseStified will strive to organize poetry events and activities, providing services and web space for poets to post their poems, and developing projects for public display.

VPA is not supported with government funding or any ( otherwise ) tax dollars. VPA support comes voluntarily and directly from its own membership, as well as from the community in which the membership resides. It exists solely to serve the three primary purposes as stated in the charter.

There are no requirements for general or organizational membership.
